User Experience

The term ‘user experience’ was originally used in the context of websites. However, the truth is that ‘users’ are having ‘experiences’ all the time, and most of them have nothing to do with websites. Your customers, clients, employees, suppliers and other stakeholders don’t really care what medium you use to communicate with them, as long as it’s the right message at the right time in the right place, and it meets or exceeds their expectations. A big television commercial may get you some attention, but if your customers then visit your website only to find that it’s impossible to navigate, you still won’t make the sale.

Good marketing is all about creating the right User Experience across all touchpoints – so that no matter where or when an individual comes into contact with your product, service or brand, their experience is positive, consistent, and rewarding. User Experience is one of our favourite topics here at StayAwake – we even wrote a whitepaper about it. You can read it here.
